MY STORY

My name is Frank Dahlor, and I'm the founder of Sovereign Body Health & Wellness.

My passion with body work is providing solutions to clients that may have been thwarted by previous efforts or have been lost wandering down a long road of never ending treatments without full awareness of what their issues actually are.

This passion was first sparked in 2004 during massage training at the Esalen Institute on the Big Sur Coast. After a short time in practice, I became acutely aware of some client's issues that would never go away, or leave them only for a short time just to appear again later.

I was witnessing more complex and clinical issues that I didn't have the training or understanding to treat. in good integrity, I didn't want to charge fees or waist resources on treatments that I knew would not actually benefit the client nor the issues at hand. Instead, I empowered myself to go out searching for better solutions.

I found Ohlone College's Physical Therapist Assistant Program and graduated in 2010, I am forever grateful for their highest level of education. It's been foundational in my clinical knowledge and opened up a career path that I've traveled now beyond a decade. Combining my Esalen Massage experience with my deep clinical knowledge as a Physical Therapist Assistant turned me into a perfect seed pod to land into the fertile soil of my unexpected next evolution.

In 2013 I began working at Ryan Ranch Physical Therapy with Will Kramer Physical Therapist who's been practicing exercise and manual therapy since 1978, and who would eventually become my mentor.  His approach challenged me and solidified for me what client care ought to look like every visit. His concept that every treatment needs to include certain key components based on the client's presentation, sometimes out of their own awareness, demanded a certain level of clinical sight, integrity, and client education.

When I began witnessing these ideals applied, humbly I soon learned that "simple" all too often gets confused for "easy" and "complicated" gets mistaken for "difficult" while in the meantime it's you, the client or patient, that suffers from the confusion.

Today, no matter how much I've learned or grown within my field, if you the client don't understand what's being treated during a session, where you're at in the healing process, or what the impacting factors are, then the healing won't be as successful.

Most recently life brought me up to the Sierra Foothills in 2020 where I have branched out on my own and combined decades worth of knowledge and experience to create what has become the Sovereign Body Method.
